Driver Mobile Says Bye to Glu, Hello to Gameloft

The popular Driver franchise of racing games has just switched sides, at least on the mobile front. Gameloft has jumped into the driver's seat and snatched the rights to the series from Glu Mobile. What this means is that that previous Driver games will be off the market by the end of the month, with a whole new set of Driver titles becoming available, under the Gameloft banner, starting in June 2007.

To be available in both 2D and 3D versions, Driver: LA Undercover will hit cell phones at the same time as Ubisoft's Driver Parallel Lines for the PC and Nintendo Wii, as well as Driver 76 for the Sony PSP. This will be in June 2007. Gameloft expects to release Driver racing games for Java, Brew, and Symbian-equipped handsets.
