NTT DoCoMo Inc and enterprise application provider Ufida Software Co Ltd are to enter the mobile software market in China with a joint investment in Fidatone Mobile Technology and Service Co Ltd.

Tokyo, Japan-based mobile carrier DoCoMo will invest $5m to acquire a 33.3% equity stake in the company. Fidatone will establish a mobile software subsidiary that will use DoCoMo's expertise and UFIDA's ERP software and customer base to develop and market the mobile applications in China.

DoCoMo's services arm NTT Data Corp set up a joint venture with Ufida in 2005 that aimed to package Ufida's ERP software systems with NTT Data's systems and network integration capabilities.
