Manila, Philippines (AHN) - Digital games developer Anino Entertainment has expanded its operations in Australia to attract development projects in the country and get a slice of the huge gaming market in the region.

Anino founder Niel Dagondon said the Manila, Philippines-based gaming firm, has teamed up with Australia-based White Knight Games. It has established its office in the city of Perth and will be called Anino Entertainment Australia.

Previously, White Knight and Anino have collaborated in the development and launching of PC-based role playing game titled "Timothy and Titus." Under the partnership, Anino Entertainment Philippines will own a 10 percent stake in Anino Entertainment Australia.

Dagondon said other capital expenditures were being ironed out among the partners.

The first project of the partnership is the development of a new role-playing game for the PC and the "new generation" game consoles referring to the new Microsoft Xbox 360 and the upcoming Sony Playstation 3. The game is expected to be completed in 2008.

Last week, Anino was tapped by mobile services developer Mind Matics to create the official mobile phone game of "Snakes on a Plane" for New Line Cinema.

Anino Entertainment also pioneered the development of the Philippines' first commercial PC games "Anito: Defend a Land Enraged."
