Need urgent guidance

i have taken up a mobile game as my project
i am using netbeans 6.0 as the tool
and j2me as the platform
wel to say i am completely novice in this field
i just have a story and the various levels for the game
but a complete beginner in coding using j2me
could you please guide me through
how to start coding up that is how to first make a good menu screen
how to design the maps and characters for the game
wchich books to follow
and anything and everything that has to do with j2me game programming
just guide me in this world of j2me plss.

refer the document that comes wtk. If you are going to start j2me start with any simple book that also has canvas and other low end display components.
