You cannot read the content list from the jar file. And you don't have any such situation where the contents are going to change dynamically. So I don't think there is a way to read the jar itself. Moreover FileConnection is a call to the OS and it doesn't allow you to browse within the jar file. But you may have some other tweaks for it. I am sure it may not be successful on all handsets.

i want to develop a application in wich i want to change sounds every time in the jar manually before i am going to install in the devices.

i want the program to read the files and to create an array at the runtime and to play those wat ever the sound may be inside the jar...

so is there any method for this?

you can list the sound filenames in your jad entry and the read them from the program.
