Reason for using Jad and Jar

Postby Kup » Wed Sep 26, 2007 3:40 pm

Hi

i'm new at j2me, and so i have a few questions, that i'd hope anyone could help me with

first, i have one jar and one jad file, but i'm passing it to the mobile by bluetooth, therefore i can only pass one at a time, is that a problem?

second, how do i make the game autoinstall?

Thanks for the patience ;)

The Jad file has the information about the game like size and features it uses. This file us useful only when a game is downloaded via over-the-air transfer through gprs. This is to ensure if the mobile is compatible for the features the game uses before it actually downloads the game. Otherwise you can send the jar file alone to the mobile if the transfer is using bluetooth.

ok thanks.

but now i have another problem, i make the transfer to the mobile by bluetooth, and in the mobile i receive the message with the jar file.
but now how do i make it install in the games directory instead of the applications directory?
and also how do i make it appear only one runnable class intead of all the classes of the game?

In the project, see midlet classes, you need to add only one midlet class to make it show only one icon, other wise it will show all midlets as different icons.

During installation you can choose the which directory to install. Games/Applications.

Meanwhile which device r u using?

You can set the default installation directory in the app manager
